Cons

That assistant manager has already been promoted to manager and now oversees the entire plant. He likes robots because he doesn’t understand or listen when people speak plainly. There are no benefits at all, barely meeting the requirements of the Labor Standards Act. There are only two holidays: Labor Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival. Don’t expect too much—it’s impossible to make much money. The birthday bonus is 500, and 30 is deducted for lunch. The year-end bonus is not guaranteed to be one month’s pay; they give whatever they feel like. They like to mess with employees, especially long-term employees—the longer you stay, the greater the chance you’ll be targeted. There are never any raises. Business is very good now, but to avoid granting leave, they stopped using the system they paid for and went back to requiring paper applications first. They may even hide the leave request book. Operators must submit their requests at the beginning of each month, and no more than a few people can take leave on the same day. In short, if you consider yourself obedient, are confident in managing upward, or enjoy infighting, you can consider it. It’s more dramatic inside than *The Legend of Zhen Huan*. It’s a job where you can’t eat your fill, but you won’t starve to death.

Pros

1. The company has just moved to a new plant, so the environment is very new and the exterior looks impressive

2. Labor and health insurance are reported based on actual salary

3. Basically, fixed working hours with very little overtime

4. The work is not too difficult

Cons

1. The benefits are fairly average: holiday bonuses, one month of year-end bonus, and an employee cafeteria that costs NT$35 per meal

2. The interviewer was an assistant manager who liked to contradict what the applicant said and emphasized that the previous job was in a different industry, so the starting salary would not meet the applicant’s expected compensation; future raises would depend on performance
