Pros

Channel Specialist

1. The atmosphere among colleagues is quite pleasant (except for the manager).

2. Field staff have relatively more freedom (the manager may monitor your itinerary at any time and give you guidance on the spot).

3. The company organizes clubs from time to time.

4. You can drink unlimited beer—until you throw up.

5. All expenses incurred for work-related business during working hours can be reimbursed.

6. If you are sufficiently submissive and can accept Taiwanese people turning on their own colleagues, then you possess all the traits required for this job.

Cons

1. All I can say is, a good manager takes you to heaven; a bad manager…..

2. Extremely heavy administrative procedures (you will be severely reprimanded if they are not done properly).

3. A Channel Specialist absolutely, absolutely, absolutely does not only handle POSM merchandising and freshness maintenance. Basically, you also have to do the sales team’s work (for example, being told to promote new products….). Of course, don’t think you will earn more for doing it. Simply put, you receive a specialist’s salary while doing a salesperson’s job.

4. Store-front expenses are provided very unclearly, so when visiting stores, you must be careful with your wording to avoid being questioned by the store (and avoid getting bombarded).

5. ✨ ✨ ✨ Very important: At this company, do not take your work too seriously, because your effort and contributions can never be expected to be proportional to the returns.

6. To get a raise or promotion, you have to take exams for everything! On top of that, knowing how to flatter people is also important!

7. You absolutely have to align with the company’s values. If you do not perform well or fail to meet the standards expected by management, you can easily be criticized, so you should seriously consider your future.

8. Performance and a culture of flattery come first.

9. The turnover rate among specialists is abnormally high. At Kirin, this position can be said to have the least value.

10. Your itinerary and photos are monitored constantly. If a store is not properly set up, you may have to wait for a phone call or a “care” email.
