Pros

1. A good place for people without lofty ambitions who want to settle down and make a living. The work is routine, there is no overtime on weekdays, and the schedule is regular and stable.

2. Colleagues get along harmoniously.

Cons

1. The company has a system on the surface, but there are other discrepancies among the various departments. All I can say is that you have to join the right department.

2. Supervisors talk without taking action too often. For example, they may say early on how something will be handled, but in the end, it usually does not follow the plan or simply goes nowhere, resulting in a situation where they only talk.

3. Gender inequality exists in certain departments. All I can say is that having the right gender is important—you will understand once you join.

Pros

First, let me mention that my job title was “Maintenance Technical Information Engineer,” but that was only in the past, because I have already left the company. If you want to know why I left, feel free to take a look.

1. You can listen to podcasts at work.

2. You can decide what you want to eat for lunch.

3. Everyone has at least a basic computer to use.

Cons

A traditional Japanese-style company where seniority comes first; if you are good at flattering people, they will smile at you.

The department manager’s logic is very cool: after listening to what they say, you feel as though you have heard nothing at all.

The junior managers within the department can be good or bad. If you are lucky, you will work under a good one; if you are unlucky, you can only hope that your gender is the “correct” one.

Having the “correct” gender becomes a direct passport to privileges: you can sleep during work hours, and the manager will not get angry. Instead, they will gently say, “Don’t fall asleep again, okay?”

By the way, let me also mention the company’s usual attitude during interviews. They will mostly say something like: “The things inside our company are different from those at other companies outside, so basically you will have to learn everything from scratch. Therefore, regarding salary, we can only offer you the minimum wage. Is that acceptable?”
