Pros

The office environment is fairly spacious and quiet, there is exercise equipment available for use, and colleagues are friendly toward one another.

Cons

The situation in my dream was: For some reason, the staff turnover rate seemed quite high (?), with around 40–50% of the employees at the company having only about a year of experience.

The company’s corporate culture does not place much emphasis on communication. For example, frontline employees often do not even know why they are carrying out the tasks assigned to them; they only know that they “have to do them.” Some employees outside the R&D department may not even have a clear idea of what kinds of products the company sells.

Pros

The interviewers were a PM and someone from the marketing department. The atmosphere was relaxed and it was easy to talk.

Cons

I want to remind friends applying for design positions, like me, that after the interview you may be asked to complete an assignment involving redesigning their currently published app, GoMore. This is essentially free spec work and is highly disrespectful to creators.

Unfortunately, at the time I couldn't think of how to refuse the assignment, and I tried to communicate with the PM to change its direction, but the PM insisted that it be done according to their original framework. In the end, I still completed and submitted it seriously. I thought this stage was over, but a few hours after sending it by email, I received a reply from the PM saying, “These pages show a sense of aesthetics and visual design. Could we see the concepts for 1–2 pages with more of a UI flow? (Original text)”

At this point, we hadn't even discussed any salary or benefits. I realized that I was being taken advantage of, and that because I hadn't clearly stated my position, I had allowed the other party to push further. Successfully refusing was probably the best outcome. I don't know whether this is a longstanding practice at the company or the PM's personal behavior. I only want to remind friends working in creative fields that when you encounter this kind of situation, please protect your work and assets. These are the results of our accumulated experience and hard work.

This review is not intended to target this PM. His attitude during the interview was friendly; I only felt that his level of expertise in design was not particularly high and that he did not really understand how to respect professional expertise. At the time, all of the company's designers had resigned, and design work was being outsourced. These are all points that should be noted.
