Pros

The interview location is

No. 16, Lane 64, Zhongzheng North Road, Sanchong District, New Taipei City, but at this location you will only see a freezer.

You need to turn right into Lane 52, Section 2, Chongyang Road, Sanchong District, New Taipei City.

On the right-hand side, you will see a glass door with a kiwi poster on it. That is the place.

For the first interview, you simply go inside to fill out some information. They ask a few simple questions and then let you leave.

About three days later, they will contact you to ask about your availability for a second interview.

First, I’ll explain the issues with this company during the first interview.

The environment was quite dirty and messy, with a thick layer of dust. They repeatedly handed me the wrong form three times in a row.

Even the third time, it was still wrong—the form was labeled as a part-time job application form.

When I asked about the company’s policies, benefits, scope of the position, and what the job would involve, they had no answers at all.

After failing to answer even basic questions, they simply brushed me off, showing no basic respect for job applicants.

At the second interview, as soon as I entered, they said that the form they had given me last time was wrong.

They asked me to fill out another one. Apart from the form’s title being different, everything that needed to be filled in was exactly the same.

This time, a different woman conducted the interview.

Only through her did I learn that the first interview had been with the supervisor.

The reason the second interview was with her was that she could not handle the workload, so they opened a warehouse position to cover part of her duties.

The warehouse position needs to coordinate with her. Below, I will mention only the key and more serious issues; I will omit the smaller problems they caused.

Cons

1. This position was created because she could not handle the workload.

2. In Sanchong District, the company has only two full-time employees: her and the supervisor. The remaining approximately four to five people are all part-time workers.

3. Each full-time employee has to handle the duties of two to three positions.

4. On Saturdays and Sundays, you must remain on standby at all times. The company may ask you to go open the door at any time so that a driver can pick up goods.

5. The warehouse position also requires you to order lunch boxes, request invoices, keep accounts, calculate bills, manage petty cash, prepare documents, control orders, manage inventory, coordinate logistics—including Black Cat, LALA, and other drivers—pick and ship goods, pack orders, perform quality control, and coordinate with the person assigned to work with you. If she goes out, you have to take over her duties, manage and supervise the part-time staff, and assign tasks to them.

6. This woman mentioned that she had applied for two positions at this company at the same time (something job seekers should avoid).

Strictly speaking, the company did not let her do work related to either of those two positions.

Instead, they had her do this current job (the company’s A and B positions—the kind of bait-and-switch that problematic companies love to use). After that, she just kept talking on and on about it.

7. The only benefit she mentioned was:

Free lunch provided on workdays (meal-box standard: NT$150).

At most, you can receive a total equivalent to 15 months of pay per year. The 15 months consist of 12 months + year-end bonus + the three holiday bonuses + other bonuses.

( ) indicates that the amount may vary or may even be nonexistent, because receiving the full 15 months is only possible in the best of circumstances.

8. They only moved there in July 2024, so the place will remain run-down for quite some time.

9. Throughout the interview, they repeatedly hyped up the company’s benefits and compensation as being very good, but when asked for details, they could not explain what was good about them.

10. This company has a fairly high turnover rate and recruits indiscriminately to fill vacancies. They do not care how much experience or ability you have; as long as you are cheap enough, they will let you in.

Pros

The office is very beautiful

Cons

The questions asked included:

1. Self-introduction

2. Past work experience

3. Strengths and weaknesses

4. What I want to do in the future

I worked hard to complete two exam papers, one translating from Chinese into English and the other from English into Chinese. I am confident in my English, so I asked HR what they thought of my writing. They replied, “Oh, I’ve roughly looked over it,” clearly meaning they hadn’t read it! During the interview, I was asked the questions above, but the response I received was that the work might be dull and therefore not suit my personality. I said I could accept that, but the response was a sarcastic laugh followed by “We’ll discuss it again after further evaluation.” Extremely disrespectful!

Pros

The surrounding area has good amenities, the office looks quite comfortable, and the employees appear to be fairly young on average. The person who welcomed me into the office to take the written test at the time was very friendly.

Cons

The HR department has serious issues. It was obvious that they had not read my résumé before conducting the interview. Although I had stated in both my cover letter and résumé that I was a fresh graduate, they kept repeatedly asking about actual work experience. They also did not give me a chance to ask questions and hurriedly ended the interview. It was very disrespectful.

Cons

The HR department is very problematic. They clearly had not read my résumé before conducting the interview. Although I stated in both my cover letter and résumé that I was a recent graduate, they kept repeatedly asking about my practical work experience. They also did not give me a chance to ask questions and hurriedly ended the interview. It was very disrespectful.

Pros

Pros: None

Cons

During the interview, there was an English test, which seemed normal. Other people used their phones to look up words and so on, while those who finished the test directly were treated extremely disrespectfully by the interviewer. The interviewer arranged the time with you, then changed it, and afterward asked why you had come today. However, during the interview, the interviewer was extremely disrespectful to the interviewee, did not read the submitted materials at all, and then simply said that the interview was over for today.

Cons

Jinguo Trading Company has offices in Taipei and Shanghai. I went to the company for interviews three times in total. The first interview was fairly normal. During the second interview with the boss, the boss had no idea what the responsibilities of the position were or what employee benefits the Shanghai office would provide, and seemed completely unaware of the purpose of arranging the interview. They then arranged a third interview for me. Later, I discovered that the job title I applied for had been changed without authorization, and I was not told why. During the third interview, I met Mr. Liu, the person in charge in Shanghai, who was very late. Mr. Liu said that I would only find out the actual job duties after arriving there. He did not know the answers to any of my questions, which made me feel there were no guarantees and that everything was unclear. The company also refused to disclose any details about its overseas assignment allowances. When I asked why my job title had been changed, I was only passively informed that there had been a change. I simply felt that the information provided by this company was very opaque and somewhat risky. The interview process dragged on for a long time, and in the end, the result was communicated very passively—I had to ask them myself, and the company only gave a perfunctory reply that I was not hired because my personality was not a good fit. I feel that this company was extremely disrespectful toward interviewees and did not even know what kind of person it was looking for.
