This is a very frightening place, where the production line is watched to the point of stripping people of their humanity. The atmosphere at work is oppressive, and one senior member particularly loves verbally abusing others (I wonder if they are still employed there?). The stereotypical image of a small or medium-sized enterprise in southern Taiwan is fully manifested here: the environment is ordinary, with all kinds of deductions and penny-pinching. If the company is losing money, why not shut it down? Why do the children in the family get whatever they want? Everything becomes clear after working at the company for a while. If you are still employed there, escape as quickly as you can!
The owner and the owner's wife are very kind, and the colleagues in the office outside get along fairly well and harmoniously. The production-line colleagues are relatively taciturn. You leave work on time, with little overtime.
The owner's wife handles the finances, but in reality, she wants to control almost anything she can get her hands on. As long as something does not suit her, the more you explain, the more unreasonable she becomes. Even if an issue was not caused by you, as long as she is displeased with you, she will assign the responsibility to you. The company only has a little over ten employees, so there is nowhere to appeal, because she is the owner's wife. She plays the bad cop, constantly offending people with what she says, and verbally bullies you relentlessly at work. She is extremely sarcastic. No matter how well you perform, if she does not like you or you do not have her favor, she will gang up on you and ruin your reputation. As far as I remember, everyone who resigned did so because of her harshness and lack of restraint in speaking.
As for the owner, he plays the good cop and oversees engineering technology and sales. He is a person who is less self-centered, but he changes his mind constantly. An order he gave five minutes ago can be immediately overturned by him when he walks past you, or he may simply be following his wife's orders. However, both of them are over 65 and do not have very good memories, so it is genuinely difficult for the people underneath them to work. Things change back and forth all day long....
In addition, the BOM for mass-produced products can change over and over again; all they care about is maximizing profit. Can you imagine ordering components for a mass-produced product from Taobao? I really worry for their sales staff and am afraid that before long, there will be another incident where, because of a customer complaint, products have to be recalled for rework, and then at year-end they will tell everyone that we need to stand together through difficult times... because the company lost money....
Everything about this company makes me feel that the senior management is not grounded enough. To save a small amount of money on costs, they end up paying a large price to others. They refuse to use proper, standard materials even when order quantities are not large; just to save a few New Taiwan dollars, they sacrifice product quality and damage the company's reputation. In recent years, they have continued considering outsourcing production to mainland China, but quality is a major problem, and the quantities are not large either. To lower the unit price and increase their own profits, they keep treating quality as a joke. Looking back, this really is a damn awful company.
