2. Overtime pay.
1. The leave policy was not mentioned during the interview. They only said it followed the Labor Standards Act. Then, when I wanted to take leave, they told me that, according to “company policy,” I could not take leave on Mondays or Fridays and could only take it during the middle of the week. The reason was that no one had a designated backup, so there was no one to handle your work while you were on leave.
2. The company takes pride in the fact that annual leave can be exchanged for wages.
3. Annual leave is calculated according to “company policy,” not the Labor Standards Act, so be careful (e.g., I had worked there for one year and was about to resign. I had unused annual leave, but when I left, “company policy” reduced it to only two days of annual leave).
4. The boss does not respect employees. On holidays, the boss would call and ask what your computer password was, and would also take the notebook from your desk to write in it. (Be careful! Make sure to put away your personal belongings!)
5. Every week, employees take turns being assigned as the person on duty. The boss’s wife uses the surveillance cameras to monitor whether you have cleaned properly and also directs you on how to clean. There is no set cleaning time; whenever she thinks something is dirty, she tells you to clean it.
6. They assign you work and tell you that it is not urgent and that you can do it when you have time, then shortly afterward ask whether you have finished handling it.

1. I interviewed for an administrative assistant position, but the interviewer did not even explain what the company sells. They only asked what I could do and said nothing about the company. Although I already knew the industry beforehand, shouldn't the interviewer at least have explained it?
2. Although the position is described as administrative, it also involves warehouse management, and I would have to know how to drive and go to the warehouse to pick up items.
3. The salary is surprisingly low. They actually said the starting salary was 21K, possibly 22K. I thought I had misheard. This year is 107 [Republic of China calendar], and the minimum monthly wage is already 22,000. Offering 21K completely disregards the Labor Standards Act. More importantly, the job duties are complex and they require a full-time employee with experience. Offering this kind of salary is completely unreasonable.
4. The interviewer did not even know whether the company provides labor pension contributions, and then said that unused annual leave could be exchanged for money because they themselves never manage to use it all. Anyone considering working in a place like this should really think twice.
