Read the community guidelinesGood benefits, comprehensive systems, and a diverse range of company products, offering opportunities to learn about many areas. I have already left the company, but I am very grateful to my former employer.
I will always be proud of the Johnson & Johnson group.
The group is very large and is divided into different business units—pharmaceuticals, medical devices, contact lenses, and consumer products. There is not much interaction between the business units, which is a bit of a shame.
The company is very impressive.
1. Neither the senior nor junior managers had looked at my résumé at all before the interview; they only started reading it on the spot. The very first thing they said was: “You don’t seem to be what we’re looking for.”
2. The senior and junior managers’ language comprehension seemed extraordinarily different from that of ordinary people.
ex:
Manager: How is your English?
Me: My listening, reading, and writing are good; my speaking is fair.
Manager: Our department often needs English. If you’re not good at listening and speaking, it may be difficult for us to hire you.
Me: My listening is OK. I’ve had less practice speaking, but I can communicate in a business setting.
Manager: Our person in charge is a foreigner. If you have problems with listening and speaking, it really won’t work.
Me:...........
3. The senior and junior managers’ professional competence......?!
Manager: Please give an example of a customer complaint within a quality system that you have handled.
Me: We would first ask an engineer to identify the root cause, while also searching online for similar situations, and then modify the procedure based on that cause.
Manager: (They looked at each other.) Search online!? We don’t do that. We directly modify the process internally.
Me (OS): Damn, your company can modify the process without even finding the root cause. What, do you have supernatural powers?
