Cons

I checked the interview location on Google Maps beforehand, but it showed a breakfast shop that had closed down. When I searched using the company name, the location shown was on Section 2 of Fuxing South Road, which was extremely confusing. In the end, I steeled myself and went directly to the site. Sure enough, it was a breakfast shop being demolished, and near the entrance there was even a notice stating that the breakfast shop had ceased operations last year...

Since I had already come all this way, I decided to go ahead with the interview. I called them, and when they said on the phone that the location was correct, they seemed to realize my confusion and laughed as they explained that they were on the second floor. After entering through the metal gate, there was a small internal staircase. This was the first time I had seen a layout where a first-floor apartment storefront had stairs leading to the second floor. The second floor was a long, narrow office area with very limited width. Three individual desks and chairs were arranged in a row, leaving only enough space for one person to pass through, so it felt very cramped. Boxes of documents from past years were stacked nearby. The place where I initially filled out the application form was the desk of the person guiding me. I briefly filled it out on her messy desk before she led me up to the third floor.

The stairs to the third floor led from a door on the second floor into the main body of the apartment. Looking up the stairs, you could see a long staircase extending directly from the first floor to the third floor. It was an old-style apartment with doors on both sides of each floor. Since it was very dim, after entering the third-floor door, I found myself in a house that was still being renovated. I was led to a kitchen under construction, where, in the dim space, I could vaguely see a countertop without a range hood installed. The boss finally conducted the interview at this small table.

The boss appeared to be a man in his 60s or 70s. Since there were no lights or air conditioning in the space—and the house was still being renovated—and because we were both wearing masks, I could neither see him clearly nor hear him very well. He briefly asked about my previous work experience and reason for leaving, introduced the job duties, explained that in addition to an accounting employee they would also be hiring two project staff members, and went over the working hours. Then it ended. The whole thing took about 10 minutes...

Because I had done a quick Google search beforehand, I originally assumed that the information shown on the map was outdated. I never expected the actual site and the online information to be completely “accurately represented.” I am writing this record in particular for that reason. If you do not mind an environment that feels like a construction site, perhaps the place will be completed eventually (?)
