Cons

1. Within five years, all of the English teachers successively resigned, and when I took over, there was no schedule at all. Although the previous teachers had written schedules, they did not follow them when teaching. At first, the boss said that she had a prescribed schedule, but then immediately changed her story and said that I was supposed to prepare one for her.

2. We agreed that the minimum hourly wage would be 450, but after I took over, she said that each class would pay 400, with an additional 50 for each extra student. Having taught at various locations for many years, I understood that the boss was extremely penny-pinching about wages, so I could not be bothered to say much.

Later, I approached the boss to discuss student recruitment and hoped to negotiate a raise. The boss immediately began complaining about being short of money and continually criticized every recruitment suggestion I made. I really could not stand listening to it and turned to leave, but the boss immediately changed the subject again and asked, “If I gave you 500,000, how would you run the business?” I replied that this was not my area of expertise, to avoid being led by the nose. The boss immediately responded, “I don’t like your attitude,” and then spent another hour talking about attitude and related matters. Personally, I feel that because the business was not doing well and too many problems had occurred along the way, and because the boss was emotional by nature, she was prone to venting her emotions on those around her, which also caused her words and actions to often come across as oppressive and forceful.

3. There is too much manipulative rhetoric; the boss will disparage your value through her words in an attempt to make teachers submit. The boss likes employees who are obedient. If you are very opinionated, I recommend not applying.
