The interview was divided into three stages, beginning with a one-hour practical skills test.
After that came an interview with the manager.
The third stage was an interview with the boss’s wife.
I applied for an e-commerce operations, marketing, and customer service position. The focus of the initial test was whether I could write copy and handle customer service. But by the stage with the boss’s wife, it turned out they were looking for a salesperson. Most of the conversations with users involved constantly pushing them to buy, buy, buy. Regarding overtime, they also said they needed someone who could stay with the company through thick and thin until two or three in the morning. It was a job that seemed to expect people to sell dreams—and their health.
When I said I couldn’t sacrifice my health, and that I could work overtime but not too late into the night, the boss’s wife immediately shook her head and walked away. I awkwardly left the meeting room alone and followed her to the elevator. It was extremely unpleasant and rude. Aside from being disrespectful, it also gave me the impression that she would not respect her subordinates either.
The work atmosphere is pretty good.
The company has been losing money constantly. I started at the end of May, and my salary of over 800 wasn’t paid until early July. If even part-time employees are treated this way, full-time employees must have it even worse. I didn’t receive my April salary until the end of June. I also heard that the store is going to close. If there are operational problems, why are they still hiring? I’m really upset—they wasted my time, and I had to keep chasing them just to get paid. They really deserve to be reported.
The manager seems like a nice person when speaking with them.
It seems they are looking for one person to do the work of many.
Perhaps it is a good opportunity for people who need to gain more experience.
