Pros

Cons

HR will say that we use an alternative work-hour system, requiring 40 hours per week, but this position involves 12 hours and 10 minutes per shift, rather than the usual 4-on/2-off rotation. The salary is NT$34,000 for day shifts and NT$39,000 for night shifts, both involving 12-hour shifts. You are notified on the same day after the interview whether you were hired.

Although you are applying for a plant operations assistant position, it requires rotating day and night shifts of 12 hours, and the alternative work-hour system is used for calculation, so any shortfall in working hours must be made up. Compared with a 4-on/2-off rotation, the company effectively takes advantage of your working hours, while the pay is not higher. I would rather work a 4-on/2-off rotation, since at least the working hours are easier to manage. You really need to pay close attention to how the working hours are calculated.

Pros

Basically, the annual salary is 14 months’ worth:

12 months of monthly salary + 0.5 month for the Dragon Boat Festival + 0.5 month for the Mid-Autumn Festival + 1 month for the year-end bonus.

(Is this really an advantage? It was already stated in writing. Isn’t this something that should be standard anyway?)

Cons

The Administration Department on the second floor has a very active imagination—there may be more crap in their heads than anything else.

Because there are only six microwaves in total across the three plants, and with so many people, they get used up and break down quickly.

As a result, they are considering no longer providing microwaves in the future.

They are telling the night shift to use steamers to heat their food instead. (Does everyone have a steamer at home?)
