Read the community guidelinesThe colleagues at the same level are nice, and the work environment is relatively relaxed and flexible.
1. The bonuses for the three major holidays are average (they are paid based on seniority; the year-end bonus is based on “base salary,” but the calculation is bizarre and no one knows how it is worked out. Sometimes there is one month’s worth, and sometimes there isn’t.... When it comes to employees’ severance pay, they are very good at calculating it—and at delaying it. One colleague resigned in February and still had not received it by June.)
2. The boss (the person who pays the salaries) has great ambitions, but is often blinded by the strange people around him.... Favored departments get their proposals approved even when they are terribly executed and require a lot of money.
3. The branch office also uses the same 104 job-posting account to recruit employees (if the workplace listed on 104 is not on the third floor, that’s the branch office.)
4. The person in charge of the branch office does not come from a related industry. She always says she previously worked for a multinational company, but 80% of the time her thinking is still that of a Taiwanese boss. She speaks in “Jinglish” and gossips about people everywhere (she acts very friendly toward you in person, but actually bad-mouths you behind your back). Once, at a coffee shop, she was secretly bad-mouthing an employee without realizing that the employee was sitting at the neighboring table and heard everything. Every time she enters the office, she grabs a colleague and starts talking; each conversation lasts at least 30 minutes. Employees must constantly flatter her. All show and no substance.
5. The branch office had only five people in total (later increased to eight), but the employees could not stand her, so four senior colleagues resigned within the past year.
6. Another parachuted-in male manager at the branch office has poor emotional control. He once lost his temper and loudly berated a colleague in the office, making the colleague cry. In the end, the person in charge simply swept the matter under the rug.
The colleagues are actually quite nice.
I am an internal employee, and there are some situations I really cannot stand by and watch. I feel that this company really needs to be careful: the director of the subsidiary is very good at shifting blame onto subordinates. He once slandered a certain agent in front of a gallery and sowed discord without any evidence, causing the company’s exhibition to be canceled at the last minute. In reality, it was the director’s own poor communication that caused the gallery to have concerns and cancel the exhibition.
The director of this company cannot take responsibility and only knows how to shift the blame when something goes wrong. So before joining, you really should think carefully and assess whether you are capable of bearing the consequences of the director’s underhanded tactics.
There are many brands under the company, and they are small and distinct from one another. It would be best to clearly identify which brand you are applying to.
