1. First of all, during the video interview, this company’s HR clearly did not care at all whether the tools they provided could be used. In the end, they even required adding a private LINE account for the video interview.
2. When interviewing for a sales position in the Taoyuan–Hsinchu area, the first young male manager made sarcastic comments about the applicant’s appearance.
3. The aforementioned manager even directly stated that the company was currently reducing its workforce. It felt like there were a lot of problems and that they simply wanted to exploit the workers.
4. The second interview took place just a few hours later (were they really that short-staffed…?)
5. During the second interview, a man who claimed to be a manager, around fifty-five years old, kept using persuasive rhetoric to brainwash me. He tactfully said that I had no experience in the spices industry and was unfamiliar with the company culture and operating procedures, then kept cutting my salary offer (which felt terrible). When I asked him about professional business concepts and operations, he would only dodge the questions and refused to answer directly.
6. The salary they offer is only the lowest amount you can accept; they will not offer you your so-called ideal salary. The salary is disclosed when you are hired. After all, Little Mill has contacted me directly… The experience felt terrible 👎👎👎👎
7. 👎👎👎👎👎 I was hired a week later. The HR representative (a woman) seemed to have no idea what she was doing and directly asked when I could start, without discussing the salary in advance at all. (Job applicants really need to protect themselves here, or it’s over as soon as they casually agree.) So I awkwardly asked, “Shouldn’t you tell me the salary first so I can decide?” She kept going around in circles and only understood my question after five minutes… She said the salary would be emailed to me when I agreed to accept the offer (speechless 🙄), and then only gave me a brief verbal explanation.
8. It doesn’t get worse than this—except that it does…
-Approximately 60 days at year-end, plus additional days based on each person’s evaluation results.
-Products are offered for purchase every month, but they are usually unpopular items.
Sometimes the prices are even higher than the promotional prices available on the market.
I have already resigned; overall, it was a terrible place for me personally!
A large number of people still left at the beginning of the year, and some departments were nearly wiped out.
-Some department managers do not know how to manage people.
-The procedures are cumbersome and reimbursement is difficult, so many people find it too troublesome and pay out of pocket themselves.
-Overtime pay is visible but unattainable; I have never seen anyone apply for it.
-The responsibilities of the position may be changed arbitrarily, and transfers are also very difficult.
-Young relatives of senior executives; they may be seen in high-level meetings.
-At the time, the insured salary did not comply with the Labor Standards Act and was underreported.
The above reflects my personal perspective and the facts I encountered, and may not apply to everyone.
I have just left the company and have the following impressions:
1. The company's bonuses and benefits are quite good for a traditional industry company in central Taiwan.
2. After the Planning Department replaced a group of managers in 2018, the atmosphere is now good.
3. There is not much overtime, so it is possible to maintain a good work-life balance.
4. The company honestly makes products (the products are available for purchase).
5. The company is expanding its workforce, and its performance has been growing year after year.
6. There are no relatives or cronies of senior executives working at the company.
1. Some of the company's processes are lengthy.
Before the interview, you need to complete an aptitude test online, but there are relatively few questions, so it feels inaccurate. HR also requires you to complete it within two days.
When asking job applicants questions, the HR department is extremely impolite. They keep pushing down your salary expectations and questioning your work abilities. If they genuinely think my qualifications are inadequate, then they simply didn’t need to invite me for an interview, did they?
