Read the community guidelinesSupervisors are easy to get along with (depending on the unit). Tasks assigned by superiors can be discussed in terms of how to carry them out, so communication is possible. However, no matter how strange or overbearing the tasks are, they still have to be carried out. The company's benefits system complies with the Labor Standards Act, and it will not try to shortchange you on the overtime pay you are entitled to.
Some factory environments are poor, and the equipment is outdated; the computers are also a source of concern. The working environment has considerable room for improvement. Benefits and compensation comply with regulations, but anything not required by law is simply not provided. This can hardly be called a happy workplace. Employees with better qualifications and abilities cannot be retained, while those who stay are mostly people who work with a civil-servant mentality. Whatever superiors say is treated as a sacred decree.
The superiors' high-pressure rule may be well-intentioned, but it has resulted in adverse selection: many people simply coast and take advantage, while the system operates on the fringes of legality.
The position I originally applied for was Project Engineer for Soil and Groundwater Remediation. Management was fairly transparent. The manager in the central region was not very good at leading people. Although they were quite nice personally, in practice they were unable to offer substantive advice on engineering matters. Whenever I met with the headquarters managers, they were also consistently unable to provide substantive recognition regarding my work. The headquarters manager themselves came from a certain well-known environmental technology company in the industry. Overall, the working environment was not bad.
That said, I was ultimately fired for an unknown reason. When I asked why, they were unable to provide a specific answer, which made me feel that this company does not really respect people.
