The two managers conducting the interview were very obviously just casually finding someone to interview to pass the time. They had not looked at the candidate’s information at all, and halfway through the interview they even started chatting at length with an employee who happened to walk by.
Throughout the interview, they clearly had no intention of letting the candidate answer. The two of them kept talking back and forth, and even “generously” said they would directly add 500 to the salary upfront, and that once I had thought it over and called them, we could schedule a second interview, after which I could start work.
When I called to ask when the second interview could take place, they started making excuses, saying that the department director was very busy, that the director would be on leave the following week, and that they would notify me when it was time to come in for another interview.
Then I never heard from them again.
The Nangang Software Park is impressive, with modern facilities and bidet toilets.
However, I couldn't see any advantages to this company.
1. The supervisor clearly hadn't read my résumé before inviting me to an interview.
(They didn't know what jobs I had previously held, what I had done, or what I had studied.)
2. Applicants are required to provide their salaries from previous jobs.
3. There is no SOP for the interview process; halfway through, they suddenly asked me to take a written test.
4. They asked me about my expected salary but considered it too high.
When I asked about the supervisor's expected salary, they wouldn't say.
5. They thought my salary expectation was too high, yet the job responsibilities included a whole lot of tasks.
(They might as well ask a monkey to pick bananas.)
