Internship period:
Salary: Around NT$28K when you first start; NT$30K once you become proficient in both front- and back-of-house duties. Promotion opportunities after completing one year.
Work environment: Good (in terms of interaction among colleagues). The supervisors and colleagues are all young, so communication is relatively easy.
Six days a week.
Twelve hours a day; even after deducting two hours for breaks, it is still 10 hours. No labor or health insurance, and no one fixed day off plus one flexible rest day. However, the boss does have these benefits—only the boss does.
The boss is also difficult to communicate with, and the SOP was never explained clearly.
Other people’s children never seem to stop dying. I have labor and health insurance, but none of the employees under me do. When my own child is sick, I’m the first to rush over; when I’m sick or injured, I don’t even have labor or health insurance. Even the Labor Insurance Bureau has come knocking. The government is incompetent, and my superior is unscrupulous. Thanks.

Boss: The boss is pretty nice, but the SOPs are often one thing on paper and another in practice. He would do less himself and then blame me for not confirming things, even though he had given me the menu. I personally had a bit of a confrontation with the boss; otherwise, he would not explain many things clearly, and might only tell you after you had already done something.
Supervisors: They are also young, so they are easy to communicate with and more relaxed than the boss, but you still shouldn’t act thoughtlessly.
Job duties: When you first start, you have to prepare ingredients, cook noodles, and wash dishes. Overall, things become more manageable once you get familiar with them. However, food-service work is inherently very tiring, so think it through carefully before applying. Several people have already come in and quit after only half a day. The boss and supervisors do not seem to care much, but I still wanted to offer a slight warning. If you want to give it a try, that is fine; if you feel it is not for you, leave as soon as possible. Decide based on your own circumstances—no pressure.
You can eat the food at the restaurant, and the coworkers are nice too. Consider the salary for yourself; I rated it poorly because there is no labor or health insurance and no one fixed day off and one flexible rest day per week.
