I had been verbally offered the position. During the interview, they said the company could wait for my response and repeatedly said they felt very comfortable interviewing me. I gave them a date, and the interviewer even checked their phone at the time. When I called to respond, it always went to voicemail. I then sent an email, only to receive a reply saying they were abroad on a business trip (??? Wouldn't they know about an overseas trip in advance?). The email said they would notify me after returning the next day, but they never did. I called them myself the following day to ask, only to be told that they had already found a suitable candidate. Couldn't they have sent an email earlier to let me know? They completely wasted the interviewee's time, and I had even turned down other offers and interviews.
