English tutoring teacher; the job description online only says to help students resolve their questions.

During the interview, you are first given a test of about 10 pages to complete, followed by an interview. The job has three parts: 1. Providing one-on-one tutoring to help students with things they do not understand. 2. After the teacher finishes class, standing at the podium in front of the whole class to review problematic parts of the test. 3. Tutoring a small number of students who are behind in their coursework.

Working hours are from 4 p.m. to 8–9 p.m., with an hourly wage of 200. Labor insurance is provided, but not National Health Insurance. The work locations are three classes in Yangming, Zhongzheng Road, and Fengshan; you have to travel between classes rather than teach at a fixed location. You may be scheduled from Monday through Saturday, with Sundays off.

I feel that clearly stating these details in the job description would avoid wasting each other’s time…

The boss does not value talent, often takes time off and disappears, takes leave to go on vacation while finding other teachers to cover classes, and is often delayed and inefficient in getting things done.

The boss’s high school courses lack substance, and they did not even graduate from a foreign-language-related department. Their packaging and marketing deceive students.

Most supervisors are smiling tigers: there is a lot of work for little pay. If they think a part-time worker is useful, they exploit them by paying a monthly salary; overtime is unpaid and compensated only with time off.

The supervisor has an extremely strong need for control and allows employees under them to viciously fight among themselves. Staff turnover is extremely high—please be careful.
