The only advantage is that it’s exhausting.
If you have no experience, you’re expected to take on multiple roles—more work for the same person, doing a whole pile of tasks. Long-time colleagues even hold you to a double standard about how you should do things. Sometimes they’ll help you with certain tasks because you’ve just joined, but once you’ve been there longer and know how to do those things, they all become your responsibility.
But them? They don’t have to. Because all those tasks are yours to do.
And the team leader? They just stand by making stupid comments and can’t help with anything. They’ll also emotionally blackmail you, saying, “It’s up to you whether you want to work overtime,” because you’re not fast enough. But what’s the point of working overtime if you’re still not fast enough? It’s just a waste of time.
Ah, sorry—the first week, after being casually taught the “main tasks,” I was left to fend for myself. In the second week, while I was still getting familiar with everything, I was already being pushed to work independently. Because the second week of handling things on my own apparently counts, I was pressured to work overtime in all sorts of ways, otherwise I couldn’t finish everything.凸^-^凸
I’d only been there for my second week, yet they expected me to work as skillfully as someone with three or five years of experience. What the hell.
