Pros

Leaving work on time~No complaints!

Cons

The following reflects my experience during my employment and is provided for job seekers’ reference:

Inconsistent management instructions

The company is jointly managed by a married couple, who often have different opinions about the same matter. Employees need to explain things repeatedly and confirm them separately with each person, and may also encounter repeatedly changing directions during execution.

Communication methods can create pressure

Supervisors often communicate through a series of questions, such as “Have you looked at it?” and “Do you know?”, while rarely explaining the issue and revision direction first. This can leave employees feeling tense over the long term.

Work feedback is not sufficiently clear, and immediate responses are expected

For example, a marked-up image may be sent without clearly explaining what needs to be adjusted, followed by a phone call shortly afterward asking for an update. Employees are given little time to understand, clarify, and address the issue.

Intervention in matters both large and small; limited delegation

Supervisors may directly intervene in everything from marketing content to stationery purchases, shipping fees, and mailing formats. Middle managers have insufficient decision-making authority while still being expected to take responsibility for execution results and team management.

Reviews place too much emphasis on personal preferences

Social media graphics and copy often need to be revised to match a supervisor’s personal preferences, making it difficult to proceed based on brand positioning, audience needs, or professional judgment, and increasing the cost of repeated revisions and communication.

Internal communication can easily lead to misunderstandings

There were instances where my responses were relayed to other colleagues without the full context being communicated at the same time. This can easily cause misunderstandings among colleagues and affect collaboration and trust.

Limited support for necessary work resources

Even the purchase of basic stationery and work supplies may be restricted, while details such as shipping fees and mailing formats are often reviewed repeatedly, adding to the burden of day-to-day execution.

Long-term effects on mental and physical well-being

For me, the pressure mainly came from constantly changing requirements and communication methods, which even affected my rest and sleep after work. I recommend confirming the management division of responsibilities, review process, scope of supervisors’ authority, and communication methods during interviews.
