I can't think of any advantages at all. It was absolutely terrible.
I'm an outsourced project planner, but the division of responsibilities was completely unclear.
Early stage:
1. At first, they said I wouldn't be responsible for being the main point of contact with vendors and would only assist with handling matters. I was supposed to serve as the primary assistant in vendor group chats that included the boss. But now, I'm the one handling all vendor communications myself.
2. At first, they said they would provide the vendors for the gifts they wanted to purchase. In the end, I had to find vendors myself, request quotes, and ask about production lead times.
During the project:
1. The boss asked me to handle clothing rentals. I had already reported the quote and delivery timeline, and asked the boss to make the bank transfer so the items would arrive by this Monday. The boss then said I hadn't reported it to him or followed up to ask whether the payment had been made or whether it had been handled. But from the beginning, I was only an outsourced project-planning assistant. Am I his secretary or something? This is seriously ridiculous.
2. I reported my daily work to the group chat that included the boss and the director, but the boss said I never proactively reported anything. Yet every day when he came into the office, I kept following up with him. The boss would say, “We'll talk about it when I get back; I'll look at it when I get back.”
Then he turned around and blamed me: “Why didn't you call me to confirm?”
3. The boss said the work I actually handled didn't match the quoted fee and claimed I wasn't doing anything. But after I gave him an actual list of what I had done, the boss said, “Let's not discuss the work内容 for now.” I also told him that I had been scheduling my work according to the deadlines they imposed. Even the materials I provided to the client were approved on the first try. I don't understand what he meant by saying I hadn't handled anything.
4. Because of the above, he wanted to change the arrangement from a project-based contract to an hourly or daily wage system.
But that is different from what we signed in the original contract, and I'm the one who loses out here, okay? = =
I had no problems communicating with the director from beginning to end, and our discussions were also very efficient. This was entirely the boss's problem. Speechless.
I have recordings and actual screenshots documenting everything mentioned above.
I asked him to provide the contract-termination details starting the day before yesterday, but he still hasn't given them to me.
I even have to pay him back, and he's still calculating my pay on a daily-wage basis. = =
I was even handling the vendor quotation requests and other information he assigned to me during the holiday. 🙂
He also said that the work didn't match his expectations. I just never expected you to be this incompetent. That's hilarious.
