Most colleagues are highly capable, get things done, and are normal, reasonable people.
Everything else. If you’re considering joining this company for even a second, all I can say is: RUN!
The internal power struggles are relentless, involving everyone from the COO and the director of the aesthetic medicine clinic to the CEO and the board of directors. Employees are treated like dogs. The CEO screams at people for leaving work on time, while staying until 7 or 8 p.m. is considered a sign of loyalty to the company—with no overtime pay!
The CEO is unprofessional and acts on whatever whim comes to mind. The clinic director flaunts their status as a shareholder and has no respect for professional expertise. Add a COO who panders to both of them, and the entire company feels like an outrageously melodramatic soap opera. Employees spend every day feeling like abused children, constantly anxious and afraid of upsetting the CEO or being targeted for no apparent reason.
Turnover is extremely high. Anyone who lasts more than six months either has an exceptionally high tolerance for stress or is far too willing to accept being mistreated.
The CEO constantly complains about how difficult Taiwanese workers are to manage. Honestly, if Taiwanese workers weren’t so willing to endure hardship, his leadership style would have gotten him sued long ago in another country.
This is the worst workplace, EVER!!!
