In mid-May, I received my first text message from ASE asking whether I was interested in interviewing for an Equipment Engineer position.
The message asked me to schedule an online interview. I called to ask whether the position was Assistant Equipment Engineer or Equipment Engineer, since the two are different.
HR replied that they could only decide whether to conduct an interview after my résumé had been reviewed by the production-line supervisor. Nearly half a year later, I received a second text message, again asking me to schedule an interview. This time, they also called and were very urgent, asking me to fill out the appointment form as soon as possible. The next day, I received a second call saying that, based on my résumé, I lived in another county and asking whether I was willing to commute to work at their company. They said they “felt the commute would be inconvenient” and wanted to reject the interview over the phone, eliminating me directly.
Basically, I feel that I can endure hardship for a while; it’s not as though I would be enduring hardship at your company for the rest of my life and then end up with nothing....
If you really need people, don’t impose these restrictions. If you want to conduct interviews, show the sincerity expected of a large company. Otherwise, I really feel that you only want to hire foreign workers.
<Throughout the phone calls, I felt that there were many restrictive conditions intended to eliminate many applicants>
