正圓興業股份有限公司
Pros

Barbecue activities are held on certain holidays...

Cons

The company is in a traditional industry and is located in a small alley, so it is fairly easy to miss. You can park in the vacant lot near the company.

On the day of the interview, there was no one at the reception desk. I had to go to the office next door and let them know I was there for an interview, after which I was taken to the conference room.

I had to fill out the company's standard application form, which included several situational questions. I could simply answer them according to my own thoughts.

104 stated that supervisors would train applicants without relevant experience, with a salary range of NT$35,000–45,000.

The male supervisor himself had only been with the company for a month. The document-control position did not often require overtime, but it was considered a duty-based position (no overtime pay and no compensatory leave), with no meals provided and bonuses given on the three traditional holidays. There seemed to be no year-end bonus (?).

After that, they asked questions based on my résumé. They also mentioned that someone in a certain position had recently left the company. Since I happened to have relevant experience, they said I could provide support and help the company save money……………

They specifically pointed out that my start date was too far away. We went back and forth discussing it, and in the end they had to agree to an earlier start date.

Originally, I had only intended to start in a week—it wasn't as if I was asking them to wait a month~...

Later, on the “available start date” the supervisor had mentioned earlier, he contacted me privately through 104 to ask whether I was still interested in the position and told me that the company would be conducting a second-round selection that day.

I replied that I was still interested, but there was no further news afterward—I was simply ghosted.

What puzzled me was this: when a candidate normally reaches the second-round selection stage, the company is evaluating candidates. Is it really necessary to specifically inform the applicant? And do they only include someone in the second-round selection after confirming that they are “interested”?

In this situation, from a job seeker's perspective, it makes you feel that you have a chance, only to receive neither a thank-you letter nor a rejection notice in the end.

Especially after they had specifically confirmed my start date, asked me to start earlier, and cut the salary, only to ghost me in the end.

The whole process felt rather casual~

Interview questions

Q: What are your salary expectations? Why did you ask for NT$42,000? This level of compensation is intended for applicants with document-control experience.

A: NT$42,000 is the minimum, because commuting costs were also taken into consideration.

(The company was farther from my home, and this was a duty-based position. They also wanted me to support the work of another department.)

Q: Why is your start date so far away? After taking several months off, do you still need to take more time off?

A: Because I still had interviews with other companies to attend and wanted to learn more about them, I estimated that I could start in a week. I also wanted to rest for a few more days (I didn't want to be rushed into taking the job).
