日月潭大飯店股份有限公司
Pros

...Just like that in general

The employee dormitory has twin beds.

However, there is only one wardrobe and one desk, which are shared.

Cons

The following is something I dreamed about, using my department as an example...

The employee meals are quite unpalatable and greasy.

They are worse than elementary school lunches. The food-control quality is poor, and most of the vegetables are mixed with yellow leaves. To cut costs, they cut corners at the employees’ expense—for example, the rules specify: three slices of pork belly, and one serving of thinly sliced, fried fish 🤏

Managers have emotional issues.

Examples include double standards, not doing their work, shifting responsibility, inciting hatred, having no patience, emotional blackmail, demanding 100% perfection, and not allowing mistakes. The opposite of emotional stability is venting (the kick-the-cat effect): it is passed down in sequence from those with higher status and greater power to those with lower status and less power; ultimately, the weakest person, who has nowhere else to vent, becomes the victim.

The company commits multiple violations and provides no benefits.

There are no salary additions.

There is no extra pay or compensatory time off on national holidays.

The schedule allows only 8 days off in four weeks.

Forgetting to clock in or out twice results in a NT$200 fee.

Clocking in or out too early by mistake results in a deduction of 0.5 hours.

The interview and onboarding process

You have to make a special trip to the hotel.

What if you live very far away? The interview can be conducted online, but for onboarding, you have to spend extra time and money to fill out several forms and sign an illegal slave contract.

If you can save yourself, save yourself—whatever you do, don’t come here. Turnover is high. Consider this a warning.
