The interview process consisted of four rounds.

First: A professional exam, TOEIC, and logic test, followed by an interview with the supervisor. During the interview, I was told that my test results were unsatisfactory and that if I intended to join the company, I would need to retake the tests, because the results would affect salary determination. I asked whether the testing time was too short because I did not finish the TOEIC. However, since it had been a long time since I last took the TOEIC, I later took an online TOEIC practice test and discovered that in the listening section of their TOEIC test—such as the parts where you listen to a dialogue and answer three questions—standard TOEIC tests provide the three questions along with the dialogue, but theirs went directly from 1 to 2 after only a few seconds, then to 3. The time available to answer was clearly compressed.

Second: For some reason, it was changed to an online interview with HR first. The questions concerned how I would solve various problems encountered in this position and how I had handled difficult situations during my previous internship. I felt that I had already explained the content of my internship during the first interview, so it was not difficult to know that I had no experience in this position. Therefore, I felt that asking how I would handle problems encountered in this role was rather deliberately difficult.

Third: An in-person second round of testing. After I finished two subjects and had one remaining, I was told that the testing would end for the day and that the final subject would be taken online later. It seemed that all the meeting rooms happened to be occupied and were needed, so I was told to go home first.

Fourth: After I finished the online test, HR told me I could leave. They did not explain approximately when I would receive a notification. When I asked about the progress a week later, I was told that the supervisor was still evaluating. In the end, I did not even receive a thank-you letter.

Thoughts: It was a huge waste of time. Moreover, I did not even know the salary situation—at least the minimum amount—so there was really no need to spend so much time on one company…
