Pros

Leaving work on time

Cons

Employees have to take turns cleaning the toilets and common areas; there are no cleaning staff.

There is no lunch provided. This is the first factory I’ve encountered these days that doesn’t provide lunch.

The water, toilet paper, and coffee machine in the common areas are for the boss’s use only. Even if you want to get something for visitors, you’re not allowed to use them and will be reprimanded.

New employees receive no orientation or training. On the first day, someone takes you around to learn about the machines for about an hour, and that’s it.

Work is often assigned in a disjointed way—for example, you may suddenly be given a customer’s factory specifications with no context and told to analyze them,

or receive an out-of-context email telling you to prepare a quotation.

Sometimes customers from the company’s official LINE account are suddenly assigned to you, with no handover or guidance, and you may still be reprimanded for not replying quickly enough.

The standards are constantly shifting. In the same week, they may say you can take your time becoming familiar with the machines, then suddenly criticize you for not knowing them well enough.

Everything is scrutinized excessively, while the approaches and styles of the junior and senior managers are completely different.

The senior manager often changes or overturns everything the junior manager has revised, and there is a fairly high chance you will have to take full responsibility.

After a few weeks, they may meet with you and say that your performance does not meet expectations and that your salary will be reduced; if you do not accept it, you are told to leave.

When you ask what the manager expects, they only say that you must be able to work completely independently, which is quite vague and contradictory.

For new employees transitioning from another industry, even if they have been employed for less than a month, no training is provided, yet they are required to have the manager review everything.

The company may not even have a clear standard for what “working independently” means.

In short, be careful: the company may attempt to violate labor laws—illegally reduce your salary or illegally avoid paying severance.

Be careful not to be deceived.
