Back-office department
No advantages
Employee performance is frequently reviewed, but the systems and superiors are never reviewed at all. The processes are chaotic and there are no SOPs. Responsibility is so unclear that the most reliable people are those in design roles and some planning roles. Supervisors also use their positions to apply pressure: being “too opinionated” will result in suppression or malicious rushing, yet in practice there is no actual decision-making authority. Employees must listen to their supervisors, while decision-making authority lies with even higher-level management. It is quite contradictory.
The company culture lacks up-to-date thinking and aesthetic awareness, and professionalism is often disrespected. Decisions made by people in many roles are rejected, with the company choosing to remain conservative or not daring to let people take the initiative and achieve results. Innovative and freedom-seeking employees will find it very painful to work there, as it is difficult to fully exercise their abilities. Decisions regarding media exposure also tend to go in an unfavorable direction.
Employees’ personal time and space are not respected. Calls are made during lunch breaks, and employees are criticized during working hours for not answering them. Supervisors may also pressure other employees to ask colleagues when they are going to the bathroom and instruct them to call and urge them to return to their workstations, among other things...
HR also tends to side with the employer, consistently arriving at policies that disadvantage employees while making it sound as though “they are not losing out that much.”
Salary increases and benefits are also very poor. It is advisable to consider this company only as a last resort.
