The atmosphere differs between departments: some departments have every perk imaginable, while others are extremely stingy.
If you follow the right person, you can get through your days securely, with someone shielding you from everything. If you follow the wrong person, everything gets dumped on you. All I can say is, if you want to join, remember to burn plenty of incense and pray you don’t get assigned to the land-and-sea division. Well, one advantage is that your salary is guaranteed to be adjusted every year. As for how much, you’ll find out after you join.
The year-end bonus, equivalent to two months’ salary, is paid in three installments.
There is no overtime pay; all overtime is converted into compensatory leave. How that compensatory leave can be used depends on the supervisor of each department.
Business trips are rather grueling. Days 1–6 are workdays, and even after returning, you cannot apply for Saturday overtime because business trips are supposed to follow the working hours of the “local area.” (The accommodation in Vietnam is at the level of China several decades ago, while the accommodation in China is actually quite nice.)
