Free shoulder and neck massages
Some people may simply not understand what basic workplace boundaries are.
For some people, their understanding of “interacting with coworkers” seems to stop at:
1. Your shoulders can be checked on at any time
2. The waist is a temporary communication zone
3. Putting an arm around someone’s shoulder is just an “expression of enthusiasm”
4. Sneaking up on you in the pantry to give you an unexpected surprise
And they will even add:
“We’re so close and have such a good relationship.”
It is hard not to wonder:
Why, in the workplace, do we still need policies to repeatedly remind people that
not everyone likes being touched? This is called workplace sexual harassment.
Even now, thinking about it still makes my scalp tingle. You’re not young anymore, and you have children of your own—you should understand the importance of putting yourself in someone else’s shoes, right? What would you think if it were your daughter who experienced this? How would you feel?
Oh, and one more thing: the loud chewing noises you make while eating really sound like a construction site. I don’t know whether you can’t hear yourself, are doing it deliberately, or have spent so much time at construction sites that your ears no longer work properly.
Oh, but I never said who it was 🤭
