Pros

You get overtime pay for working overtime. If you don't mind the company's unreasonable practices, you can stay until retirement—the company won't lay you off.

Cons

When I first joined this company, I was supposed to work in sales, but my supervisor said that because I had no experience, I had to start as a sales assistant and would be promoted later. In the end, it was just an empty promise. I left the company this year, and the Japanese managers there are symbols of authority; nothing will be carried out without their approval. Every year, employees have to go to the warehouse to move and organize goods. On the surface, you can choose not to go, but it's better to go anyway; otherwise, your performance evaluation will....

For someone like me with no experience, this was a good stepping stone. Although there is a promotion system, it is basically just for show. A Japanese manager can directly promote whoever they like. So, if you have no experience, you can work there for two years and then move on. There are quite a lot of long-serving employees in the company who hold consultant positions. To be honest, I don't know what these people do. However, I have heard that Japanese companies have a lifetime employment system. If you don't mind the company's many unreasonable practices, you can steadily stay there until retirement, and the company won't dare lay you off.
