This was my first interview for a mechanical engineer position, and the process was more thorough than I expected. HR first introduced the company culture and main product lines, giving me a preliminary understanding of the company. During the interview with the manager, they asked about coursework or project experience, such as operating 3D drawing software, basic mechanics concepts, and teamwork, and also shared the challenges I might encounter at work. Overall, the conversation was not particularly tense. I felt that the company was looking for someone willing to learn and able to grow with the team.
For a recent graduate, the questions covered a very broad range of topics, and some of my answers to the technical questions were rather halting. The manager also reminded me that the work pace is fast and that I would need to proactively strengthen my practical skills. I would suggest that students with no experience similarly become more familiar with “Soldwork” software operations and learn about the company beforehand so they can feel more confident during the interview.
“If it is other software, I may be at a relative disadvantage.”
