I was job hunting while employed and interviewed for a senior position. During my first interview with the Operations Director, we had a very pleasant conversation. They said that my qualifications and experience were extensive and strongly recommended me for an interview with the boss. A week later, they scheduled a second interview during my working hours, and I took time off to attend. During the second interview, the boss kept asking about the issues he was currently experiencing in working with the person in that position, and asked what could be improved. I responded and offered suggestions proactively.

During the second interview, I also observed the boss’s personality, which I will refrain from criticizing here.

More than ten days later, I contacted the Operations Director and was told that, despite the interview lasting over an hour, the boss felt I was unsuitable because I made a certain hand gesture… Well… fortunately, I don’t feel disappointed at all either… I can only say that being too expressive can apparently become a bug for some people. Truly, you can laugh about it even in old age!
