In this quality assurance engineer role, I feel the biggest benefit is being able to gain hands-on exposure to actual product processes. From sample inspection to process anomaly analysis, I have truly learned a lot. The supervisor is quite willing to teach new employees; whenever there is something I do not understand, I receive an explanation, and there are also opportunities to communicate across departments. Although the pressure can sometimes be considerable, the overall atmosphere is not overly oppressive. If you are willing to take the initiative to learn, you can grow quickly.
The work can sometimes be rather tedious, especially when handling large numbers of repetitive inspection tasks, which can feel quite tiring. In addition, cross-departmental communication sometimes involves people passing responsibility around, so it takes time to work things out. Another issue is that procedures can change fairly frequently, requiring you to adapt quickly on your own.
