There is absolutely no training. They give you product brochures and price lists and tell you to memorize them, then on your sixth day they throw you out to talk to customers. If you don’t know something, you can only bluff your way through it. For a whole bunch of questions, every senior employee gives a different answer. Later, I found out that almost everyone had only been there for a short time anyway. The system keeps getting worse. Because they can’t retain people, they changed it to low base pay and high commissions; if you decide to leave, they start finding all kinds of reasons to deduct your commission.

The technicians’ training is even more ridiculous. You watch videos and follow along, and after only a few days they throw you out to start servicing customers. When you run into problems out there, all you can do is keep calling back to headquarters for help. Is this wilderness survival?

Working as customer service is also miserable. They treat one person as if they were three people. Management meticulously calculates how many seconds you spend on each customer and how many customers you can respond to each day, monitoring whether you are slacking off.

At the stores, you have to be a jack-of-all-trades: return calls, handle customer complaints, schedule installations and filter replacements, receive customers on-site, respond to all kinds of bizarre tasks from headquarters, and even recruit employees yourself. If you don’t schedule six interviews in a day, you’ll be reported and have money deducted—always more than 5,000. From top to bottom, they always use scolding and criticism; anything you do well is simply considered expected. Once they see that you can handle it, they’ll assign you even more tasks.

Now they’re finally getting what they deserve. They’ve started running into bottlenecks when recruiting employees and can’t find anyone. Every day, the calls are just a pile of customer complaints, with people waiting forever for their filters to be replaced.
