The boss is a nice person. Since I interviewed with the boss, we had a very pleasant conversation, but the person who ultimately decides whether you get hired is the female sales manager.
I got the impression that the female sales manager may hold the most power in this company (after all, she is a veteran and could be considered the head steward).
The interview had been scheduled, but the female sales manager did not show up. She said she was dealing with matters related to her house, so after leaving me to be interviewed by the boss, that was apparently enough. I thought there would be a second interview, but there wasn't. The female manager called me directly instead, and I was the one asking most of the questions. I asked several questions about business development, but she was unable to give very clear answers. Later, she simply said that they wanted to hire me.
An offer was sent on Monday afternoon. I happened to have something come up and did not reply immediately, and I also wanted to think about the salary. When I replied on Thursday and asked some more detailed business-development questions, I was told that because I had not responded promptly, they had already hired someone else. (This part of the recruitment process was also somewhat problematic.) I actually suspected that it might have been because I listed quite a few questions, and each one struck at the core of business development, but she could not answer them and may have thought I would be difficult to deal with. So perhaps she simply said they had hired someone else. As for this company's situation, others have already described it above. The overall impression from the interview was not particularly good, so you may want to think carefully before deciding.
