Overtime pay is provided, and clocking in is not required.
For fieldwork, driving is often required. You have to go to construction sites, and besides the regular daytime working hours, some projects require nighttime or early-morning work, meaning you have to work overtime to continue. I have seen the sales staff schedule someone to work overtime in the early morning and then continue working again in the morning.
The fieldwork covers all of Taiwan, including the north, central, south, and east. Driving to the south and back in one day, with 16-hour workdays, is not uncommon. You must also cooperate with working overtime on holidays. The boss only cares whether the job is completed smoothly and does not care about employees’ rest time or whether they have personal matters after work or on holidays. If you have a family to take care of or personal matters after work, think carefully before accepting this job.
The company’s sales operations are handled by two bosses and the younger brother. When assigning cases, the sales staff often fail to communicate many details or provide incorrect information. It is common for engineers to arrive at the site and find that what the customer says differs from what the sales staff said, which easily causes problems and creates trouble for frontline personnel. Even when the sales staff have surveyed the site beforehand, mistakes still occur. You have to resolve these issues yourself on the spot; otherwise, you may later be held responsible for failing to complete the job.
In addition to your own duties, you also have to handle various miscellaneous tasks, such as running errands for the sales staff, delivering and receiving documents and goods, handling their personal matters, and disposing of waste. You also have to endure the sales staff’s moods and tempers.
You have to use LINE for work. In addition to adding company employees and groups, you also have to join a large number of customer and vendor groups. You use your own private phone, and the company will even print employees’ private phone numbers on business cards without permission and ask them to distribute the cards to customers.
The meal allowance is included in the monthly full salary. It is a small company with little visible opportunity for development or prospects, no salary adjustment system, no guaranteed year-end bonus, and no bonus system—the boss has the final say.
