They notified me about a second interview a month after the first interview,

but I had already found a job by then and politely declined.

Later, the supervisor in the U.S. contacted me and said they were ready to give me an offer,

and hoped that I could interview with a higher-level supervisor in the U.S.

We scheduled it for Saturday morning, but the higher-level supervisor in the U.S. had something come up and did not show up that day…

The original supervisor asked me about the terms of the offer I had currently received and then went offline.

Of course, they did not give me the offer they had promised afterward,

so were they just trying to obtain salary information?

It left me feeling quite bad.
