but by then I had already found a job and politely declined.

Later, my supervisor in the United States contacted me and said they were ready to make me an offer,

and hoped that I could interview with an even more senior supervisor in the United States.

We scheduled it for Saturday morning, but the more senior supervisor in the United States was unavailable that day and did not show up…

The original supervisor simply asked me about the compensation package of the offer I had received and then logged off.

Of course, they did not give me the promised offer afterward.

So was this just an excuse to obtain salary information?

It left me feeling quite disappointed.
