After the first interview, they notified me about a month later that they wanted a second interview,

but by then I had already found a job and politely declined.

Later, the manager in the U.S. contacted me and said they were preparing to give me an offer,

and hoped I could interview with an even more senior manager in the U.S.

We scheduled it for Saturday morning, but the more senior manager in the U.S. had something come up and did not show up that day…

The original manager asked me about the compensation of the offer I had received and then signed off.

Of course, they never gave me the offer they had promised afterward.

So were they just trying to trick me into sharing salary information?

It left me feeling quite disappointed.
