and hoped I could interview with a higher-level supervisor in the U.S.

We scheduled it for Saturday morning, but the higher-level supervisor in the U.S. had something come up and did not attend that day…

The original supervisor asked me about the compensation package of the offer I currently had and then logged off.

Of course, they did not give me the promised offer afterward,

so were they just trying to get salary information from me?
