1. Suitable for settling in for the long term; many people stay until retirement.
2. Colleagues are very warm.
3. Compensation is above the average for traditional industries in Kaohsiung.
1. During the interview, they said the company complies with the Labor Standards Act, but only after joining did I find out there is no overtime pay. (A more flattering way to put it is that it is a responsibility-based system.)
2. Female employees below a certain level are required to take turns serving as the duty person.
Daily tasks: making a cup of coffee in the morning and evening, microwaving the supervisor’s lunch at noon, and after eating, he leaves the bowl in the pantry for an employee to wash.
Routine meetings: making tea twice in total for the supervisors attending the meeting, making a cup of coffee in the afternoon, and preparing fruit. At noon, bringing the fruit and boxed lunches in one by one; afterward, they are likewise left in the pantry for employees to wash the chopsticks and cups.
All of the above is handled during one’s own working hours and also cuts into lunch breaks.
3. Supervisors are promoted based on seniority, so their professionalism needs to be reviewed, and they often go around in circles with employees under them.
4. The company’s thinking is outdated and cannot keep up with the times.
