Sigh... another project in Taoyuan is about the same.

Cons

There was a project experience that left me speechless. At the company, an employee under 35 was responsible for anti-money-laundering compliance and foreign-exchange transactions. Even though he was so ill that he was nearly collapsing, he was still forcing himself to carry on. The situation was already withering away, and I had no idea when they would replace him. There was absolutely no sense of direction for the future.

During the interview, not only was the salary cut, but I also had to listen to all kinds of sarcastic remarks. The entire interview atmosphere felt like a test of human nature. The senior manager kept looking at his phone and checking stocks, completely ignoring me. His attitude was so arrogant that I felt invisible. It was truly a speechless experience, and the whole situation was filled with an inexplicable atmosphere.

In a new project launched in 2025, the so-called “senior veterans” came in to provide support. After the launch, it turned into a battle over claiming credit, with everyone busy pursuing promotions and wealth. They wrote code carelessly, dumped problems on others during handovers, and completely disregarded technical considerations. This mindset was truly terrible—just doing things perfunctorily and assuming that as long as it passed, it was fine. Many people even bragged about what features they had written and how great their database tables were, without realizing that no one was willing to discuss the actual problems. Some “senior” colleagues’ level of understanding was still stuck at CRUD. There were bugs everywhere and no documentation; changing A at random would break B. It was an utter mess.
