The entire office is trying to create a cultured, artsy atmosphere, with books everywhere as soon as you walk in.

It isn’t really a media company at all; it looks more like a bookstore that’s about to go under.

As a seasoned industry veteran,

I’ll be honest: seeing this kind of attitude during the interview, I couldn’t think of a single advantage.

Later, I checked Interview Fun and realized, oh—

it’s apparently been like this for a long time.

The interview was conducted by one of their deputy editors-in-chief and their deputy head of international affairs.

When applying, I addressed the deputy head as “senior,” and he really started acting like he was some big shot.

A National Taiwan University philosophy graduate with an inflated sense of superiority, he asked a stupid question but expected an expert-level answer.

During the interview, the deputy head asked me, “If we asked you to write an article about the People’s Liberation Army, where would you look for academic sources?”

Why should I tell you the sources for this kind of specialized information during an interview?

And how exactly do you position yourself—as a news organization, or as a national defense institute or academic journal writing research papers?

Then he kept repeating himself until he eventually got angry, slammed the door, and walked out.

His superior, the deputy editor-in-chief who interviewed me, also made me feel that this “media company” (or does it think it’s a translation agency?) is beyond saving.

In the end, he was asking me for advice, and I ended up teaching them.

You’re managers, and you don’t even know whether LINE recommendations are effective?? That can’t be right. This is ridiculous.

Then he admitted that the page views they displayed had been artificially inflated.

Oh, even after inflating them, they’re still this low...? My current company completely outperforms you, okay?

Absolutely absurd.

They’re also really afraid of being replaced by AI. If all you can do is translate, with no other substance or ideas,

you’re genuinely just waiting to be replaced by AI.

And then there was that pretentious junior manager.

It seems his mental state and emotional control are seriously problematic.

Basically, I absolutely do not recommend working for this company.

Seasoned professionals don’t even need to consider it.

I even suspect they couldn’t afford my salary requirements and were deliberately making things difficult.

Young people and part-timers don’t need to consider this company either.

Can a bunch of rookies who keep making the company worse really help you grow?
