The company owner is extremely stingy. Whatever the matter, they completely disregard employees and think only about money and the benefits their own hypocrisy brings them. For example, employees are expected to participate in major company image-building events, but they have to pay their own expenses. Even though employees pay out of pocket, they are not given leave for attending. At every all-company meeting, they say, “Participation is not mandatory,” but supervisors then say that it will be added to the year-end KPI—an indirect form of emotional blackmail. It is astonishing that a company with more than a hundred employees has six HR staff. Naturally, these HR employees unavoidably play the role of applauding the owner and telling them how wonderful they are. Then there is the company’s Family Day every Friday, which uses lunch breaks for employees to listen to Carnegie training stories. That’s right—it is hypocritical, much like a boot camp. New employees are required to participate during their probationary period, and they are told that this will affect their performance evaluation (what?!). After being indoctrinated with Carnegie’s teachings, employees are expected not to question any company policies. If they question the reasonableness of regulations, they are taken to a small room for intensive “concern,” and, like being formally disciplined at school for doing something wrong, they are made to write a “counseling form” and told not to bring it up again. A female deputy manager surnamed Huang would even privately use verbal emotional-abuse threats to tell you not to spread the matter. Yet the company constantly operates on the edge of labor laws. There have already been several violations involving employee bonuses, while it often boasts publicly that it has received the Ministry of Labor’s Workforce Development Award. The irony is extreme. Because the owner is so stingy, the benefits go without saying—the bonus is so disappointing it could make you cry. Please choose carefully!!
