For young people, it’s at least a company listed on the OTC market—good for padding your résumé.
1. Overtime has become the norm. Leaving work on time will subject you to immense pressure, as if you had done something wrong.
2. Most senior employees are relatives or friends of the boss or the boss’s wife. You need to learn to read the room and must not offend these important people; otherwise, you’ll have to bear the consequences.
3. A few department heads have no substantive achievements or contributions but are skilled at shifting blame and taking credit.
4. The workplace atmosphere is somewhat tense. Senior employees are occasionally harsh toward newcomers, often relying on their experience and seniority, and are not very willing to admit when they are wrong.
5. There are too many work group chats, and messages are frequently received late at night or on weekends. Failing to respond will result in reprimands.
6. Cross-departmental collaboration is extremely poor. Everyone shifts responsibility to one another, with no spirit of cooperation; each department operates independently.
7. Employee turnover is extremely high. Full-time employees come and go almost every month.
