Pros

Small companies are more flexible and don’t micromanage too much

Cons

1. The salary was initially paid normally at the agreed-upon amount, but later the company adjusted it according to short and long months: short month = base salary; long month = the agreed amount for that month + the unpaid remainder from the short month. Labor insurance is only provided at the minimum insured level, and this is basically the case throughout the company.

2. Although the work is relatively flexible, there are many small, miscellaneous projects and the workload is heavy. You have to go to sites to take measurements, create 3D models, and draw manufacturing plans. Taking on many small projects makes the work extremely complicated.

3. Basically, supervisors do not review drawings, and the process is a complete mess. You can only check your own work carefully to avoid mistakes. When something goes wrong, senior managers only criticize those below them, claiming they are too busy to review the design drawings before they are sent out.

4. The turnover rate is high, and the company does not seem very interested in retaining people. When I first joined, an entire group of employees were newcomers, and the previous employees had not properly handed over their work. I could only figure things out myself by digging through old materials. The company does not value design talent and does not offer high salaries; it prefers to cheaply hire drafting staff to do the work of designers.

5. There is a serious sense of self-satisfaction. When hiring people, they first reject outside information and show no respect for professional expertise, believing only that their previous experience is correct. They also prioritize outsourced contractors and disregard or refuse to listen to the people they hired themselves. In that case, why hire people to handle design and planning in the first place? If you join knowing only CAD, you will also be discriminated against, because SketchUp modeling is the mainstream skill there, while people who know CAD are actually in the minority.
