The benefits are pretty good.
The year-end bonus is higher than at general agencies because of the wealthy parent company.
Although everyone understands that working overtime and working hard are expected at an agency, under the strong influence of Japanese corporate culture, some mediocre old-timers can stay for a long time. It does not matter if they are not promoted, and management will help cover up their mistakes. They do not have many products on hand, so the people who are really busy are the AE staff below them—there is an endless stream of AEs who burn out.
There are also people who use clients as an excuse to act arrogantly, treating borrowed authority as a mandate. No one knows how many AEs below them have left, while management remains indifferent.
After three or four years, the people in the middle are still the same group; only the people below keep changing.
If your skin is thick enough and you stay long enough, the job is yours anyway. In any case, you will not be laid off or transferred.
