The salary is pitifully low. Whether you are a supervisor or a newly hired entry-level employee, everyone earns only the minimum wage. There is only one performance review a year, and the boss requires you to prove what value you can bring to the company. Even after passing the review, you get only an extra 1,000 per month. After working there for several years, the salary is still pitifully low.

Customer service staff are under performance pressure: you only receive performance bonuses if you meet the target each month. When I received my first paycheck, I found that the performance bonus had not been included. It was only paid after I asked about it myself. Internal communication is extremely problematic.

For the three major holidays, employees with less than one year of service get 200, while those with at least one year get only 600. There is no year-end bonus; you only receive a New Year’s red envelope, which is just as pitifully small as the bonuses for the three holidays.

Even though we are internal office staff, the company constantly demands compliance with dress and grooming standards. Now it also requires us to wear uniforms every day, with only one day a week when we are allowed to wear black casual clothes.

During the one-hour lunch break, going outside is prohibited. You can only buy food from nearby stores or order delivery.

The company places great emphasis on punctuality: being one minute late results in a 2-dollar deduction, with no grace period whatsoever. Yet meetings often run until the end of the workday, and the company does not pay extra for the time you are kept late.

The supervisors love holding meetings. Every month they hold pointless meetings, and once every three months they hold an all-hands meeting. Before the meeting, you also have to write something like a school communication book, then go onstage one by one to report how you will improve performance. It is practically like being in high school.

The supervisors constantly @All everyone in the group chat without getting to the point, and they especially like sending messages late at night.

The company loves holding all kinds of activities on holidays, then requires internal staff who are not allowed to take leave to come to work and use compensatory time off on weekdays instead.

The company still uses the oldest time clock for clocking in and out, and leave requests are still submitted on paper forms.

Every member of the internal staff is treated like a cleaner, taking out the trash and sweeping the floors and bathrooms. Their actual full-time jobs feel more like side work.

The company’s internal supervisors are extremely busy and juggle multiple roles, so they always take a long time to reply to messages. Ordering products through purchasing requires tremendous patience because you often have to keep chasing them for updates. In the end, they may tell you an item is out of stock and ask you to check whether the customer wants to change it; otherwise, the item may arrive looking completely different from the product originally ordered.

When payday falls on a holiday, salaries are delayed, and employees are not informed in advance. They even require employees who leave the company to receive their final month’s salary in cash only.

The turnover among internal staff is extremely high. The benefit is that the boss draws up promises every day for employees to consume.
